The dialysis tubes are supplied in 8¡± sticks containing 35 feet of 22 mm internal diameter tubing. The amount of tubing required can be calculated using 3.7 mL sample per cm of dry tubing. To use it, a researcher simply pulls out the required length of tubing, cuts it off and applies a closure. The sample is then added through the other end of the dry tubing and the second closure is applied.

The Float-A-Lyzer G2 features biotech grade cellulose ester (CE) membrane. SPECTRA/POR tubular membranes are available in a variety of nominal molecular weight cutoffs (MWCO) and carry practically no fixed charge. Use SPECTRA/POR 1-4 membranes for separations at an approximate molecular weight cutoff. Supplied dry, they contain 10% glycerol, 0.1% sulfur, and heavy metal traces (except where indicated). Wash with distilled water first. Use SPECTRA/POR 6 and 7 membranes for separations at a specified MWCO. Supplied wet in a 0.1% sodium azide preservative solution. Order tubing closures seperately. More specific retentivity than SPECTRA/POR 1-4 membranes. Supplied wet in 0.1% sodium azide solution. Rinse before using. Contain heavy metal and sulfur traces. Pack contains 33-ft of membrane.
